DeFi Dev News -Fuel Launches $50k Grants, DeFi comes to Bitcoin, $2M Bug Bounty for SEI

Grants and Accelerators

  • Fuel launched their Q1 2024 grant program – 10 projects will get up to $50K to build new web3 use-cases on Ethereum, powered by the FuelVM. Applications are open from Nov. 27th to Dec. 10th.

Tooling

  • Axiom launched V2 on Goerli. V2 allows smart contracts to trustlessly compute over the entire history of Ethereum, including transactions and receipts.
  • Ackee Security launches Wake, a Python-based Solidity development and testing framework with built-in vulnerability detectors and printers.

Infrastructure

  • Botanix, the first EVM equivalent L2 on Bitcoin & powered by Spiderchain, launches a testnet.
  • Succinct Labs partners with Avail to develop Vector X, a ZK light client that secures Avail’s data attestation bridge to Ethereum.
  • Sei plans to release V2 in the first half of 2024. The upgrade will add EVM support on Sei, making it simple for dApps currently built on any EVM to deploy on Sei.
  • Circle launches Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol on Noble Chain, giving easy access to USDC for all IBC connected(Cosmos) chains.
  • Dencun will be the last fork deployed on Goerli and client & testing teams will be exiting their validators in the months after it activates. Application and tooling developers are encouraged to use Sepolia to test decentralized applications, smart contracts, and other EVM functionality. Stakers and infrastructure providers concerned with protocol-level testing are encouraged to use the newly launched Holesky testnet,

Security

  • Curve Finance's obsolete stableswap oracles are not safe to use as an attacker only needs a single extra block in most pools to manipulate the Curve price_oracle 10x-500x higher.

MEV

  • Eden Network introduces Eden Public Data, a collection of public datasets stored in BigQuery and collected using a variety of ETL processes.
  • Chainbound introduces Echo, an aggregated builder API tailored for MEV searchers, quant shops, bot operators, and blockchain hedge funds alike.
